Franka Mavriček is born in Varaždin, Croatia. She began her musical education in the prestigious Music School Varaždin in the class of prof. Melanija Gradečak. Thanks to showing a great talent she was offered the opportunity to skip one class to be challenged according to her abilities and to be able to make progress faster.
Parallelly to her education, she took part in numerous national as well as international music competitions. Among many other first prizes, the ones that stand out are the absolute (in all categories) first prizes from the international competitions Davorin Jenko 2009 (Belgrade, Serbia), Giovanni Musicisti 2011 (Treviso, Italy) and Svirel 2012 (Štanjel, Slovenia).
During her school time in Varaždin, Franka Mavriček regularly played in Chamber orchestra Varaždin, as well as a solo flute in the City orchestra of Varaždin and as a soloist in many occasions accompanied by the New York chamber orchestra and Chamber orchestra Varaždin, also within the Varaždin Baroque Evenings festival.
Her achievements as a musician resulted in 2012 with prize and title of „Croatian Musician of the Year“ awarded by Republic of Croatia Ministry of Culture.
She graduated in 2013 from both Music Gymnasium Varaždin and Bilingual gymnasium Varaždin.
After graduation, Franka Mavriček continued her musical education in Vienna, Austria, in the University of Music and Performing Arts in the class of Univ. Prof. Hansgeorg Schmeiser. Since 2015 she has been a regular student of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, as a student of Univ. Prof. Erwin Klambauer.
Aside from school and university, Franka Mavriček always aimed to take her education one step further and participated in many masterclasses with important people of the musical scene, such as Gaspar Hoyos, Federica Lotti, Jan Ostry, Carlos Bruneel, Michel Moragues, Carlo Jans und Susan Milan and many others.
The regular performances in different orchestras as well as solo performances are still, if not even more than before, a very important part of her musical achievements. Apart from numerous engagements in Vienna, one of the highlights of her young career was certainly the concert tour through Japan and South Korea in 2015.
Since she started her studies, she has also been teaching privately and that includes people with different goals, from the ones who play as a hobby to the ones who she helped preparing for entering exams. Apart from that, whenever possible she also teaches the ones for whom musical education would otherwise be impossible for free in her home country.
